The Canine Companion Project
I’m looking for a few good dogs to participate in a fine art studio project.
Ten in fact! Selected dogs will be photographed in my studio in St. Catharines. We’ll be creating fine art portraits that may be selected for a future Gallery Exhibit.
Your pup is your one true companion and you are their universe.
They’re with you in all the private moments, whether you’re laughing or sobbing, sick in bed or going through the best time of your life. Ever at our sides. Always adoring.
The Canine Companion Project was created to celebrate the stories of our best friends, with artistic flair. Images that will document their essence, from the cheeky sparkle in their eyes, to the wave of their fur, curl of a tail and perk of an ear.
Special Session fee: $195 (value of $495)
This includes:
-
A planning appointment to discuss preparing your dog, tips for success during the session, discussing where and how your artwork will be displayed and more

Our studio portrait session, we’ll keep things fun and stress-free for your pup and capture a range of looks and expressions

How much should I budget
This is a custom experience, so what you spend is entirely up to you. During your planning call I can answer questions you might have about which options would really sing in your home. Framed wall art options start at $645.
My dog is a nervous sort of pup
From some dogs, these types of sessions can be stressful. The studio lights and being indoors in an unfamiliar place can be too much for nervous dogs. If you’re unsure, let’s talk first. An outdoor signature session might be a better fit for your pup.
What if my dog won't stay put
That’s pretty common in my line of work! These sessions typically run from 60-90 minutes so that your pup can acclimate to the setting and learn what I’m asking for. We’ll take our time and have lots of breaks in between shots so that it stays fun.
In this instance we can use a leash to help keep your pup in place. I also have great treats and noises that I use to capture a moment in time. I only need a fraction of a second. We can discuss this on your planning call if you have concerns.
“I’m over the moon with the photos of my boys. Karen is so professional and has such a way with the pooches. My art hangs above our fireplace where I can enjoy them everyday. She absolutely captured their essence. Thank you again!”

Hi I'm Karen!
Creating beautiful images of your fur kids is my raison d’etre. Images that will always remind you of how incredible, regal, goofy, gorgeous they are.
My clients love to decorate their homes with artwork that has special meaning for them. And, well… what has more meaning than artwork featuring your best friend. We’ll create stunning portraits that will speak to your heart, because your dog is not just a dog – we’re talking family here.
