Storybooks
Storybooks tell the story of your session through a variety of images that spotlight the spirit of your BFF and capture your bond together. It’s a spectacular way to document lasting memories.
The hard cover features a full image and your pet’s name. It has a luxurious soft finish that begs you to pick it up and explore the story within. Pages are thick – preventing tearing or bending – and lay flat when your book is open, allowing for more impactful images.

Here’s how it works
Thoughtful planning
Before you book, we start with a conversation. It’s a chance to talk about your dog, your space, and what you might like to do with your favourite images, without needing to decide anything yet.
I’ll outline how sessions work, how to prepare your dog–and you, answer questions, and help you picture possibilities.
The portrait session
On the day of your session, I’ll guide the flow and adapt to your dog, keeping the experience relaxed and focused on images that reflect their personality and your connection.
Viewing & ordering
After your session, we’ll go through the images together at your private viewing and ordering appointment. Seeing the photographs brings things into focus. We’ll narrow in on your favourites and decide how you’d like to finish them for your home.

“Everyone who comes into my home is blown away by my precious works of art.“
“Karen at Indigo has taken photos of my dogs on 3 separate occasions (so far!). She knows how to direct the dogs (and the owner) making sure everyone has fun and is perfectly captured. The locations and settings she recommends are beautiful. Options for canvases, prints and other items are all tasteful. Everyone who comes into my home is blown away by my precious works of art 🙂
With devices in hand we are all amateur photographers these days – but you cannot compare this to the quality of the images and how they are produced with the help of a passionate professional like Karen. I am so happy with everything Karen has worked on for me and I know there will be more to come as well!”

Still have questions? Here are some answers
My dog would never sit still, can you still get amazing photos?
Absolutely. I don’t need your dog to pose on command. I need about a split second of genuine expression, and I’ve spent 12 years getting fast at catching exactly that. High energy, easily distracted, total chaos machine — all are welcome.
My dog is nervous around new people. How do you handle that?
When I arrive, I ignore nervous dogs completely and let them come to me in their own time. I’ll be dropping treats on the ground to help them see that good things happen when I’m around. No pressure, no forced hellos. Patience is the whole game with animals and I have it in abundance.
Can I be in some of the photos with my dog?
Yes, and I encourage you to do this. Some of the most treasured images from any session are the ones that capture your relationship, not just your dog.
Whether you want a proper portrait together, candid connection shots, or images where you’re “in but not in” the frame (present but not the focus) I’ll guide you so it feels natural rather than posed.
